Brian Head Peak
At 11,000 feet elevation, on a clear day you can see well into Arizona and Nevada. The highest point of the Grand Staircase and the start for many biking and hiking trails. Brian Head Peak Road is generally accessible from late May through mid October.

Bristlecone Pine
An easy 1 mile trail that is great for families. Enjoy views of the Virgin River and Zion National Park from an observation deck as you wander among a grove of ancient Bristlecone Pines. Trail access is generally late May through mid September.
Bristlecone Pond
The pond sits on the south end of the main corridor through Brian Head, and features a large pavilion, several small picnic pads, campfire rings, a playground, volleyball, basketball and pickleball courts. The pond is also a summer hotspot for fishing, kayaking, swimming, and paddle boarding. Bristlecone Pond is typically accessible for recreation late May through mid October.

Built in 1917 and remodeled over the years to retain its historic character, this landmark building in downtown Cedar City contains an old-fashioned soda fountain from the 1950s. Bulloch's has 4 joined stores that carry a unique array of beautiful on-of-a-kind items including clothing, home decor, baby and kids merchandise as well as a fun old-fashioned soda fountain and ice cream bar. Bulloch's is ever-evolving and now includes a women's and children's boutique and a home decor store.

Cascade Falls
This 1.2 mile trail offers spectacular view of Zion National Park and the Markagunt Plateau, ending at seasonal cascading falls from an underground lava tube. Portions of the trail are steep and water may be present on the trail surface. NOTE: The lava tube is closed to travel due to low levels of oxygen and often high water flow. Trail access is generally late May through mid October.

Cedar Breaks National Monument
The early Paiute people called Cedar Breaks National Monument the “Circle of Painted Cliffs” referring to multicolored stone ridges of this naturally carved amphitheater. Home to curious wildlife and Bristlecone pines that have been hanging around since the last millennium, time seems to stand still at Cedar Breaks and that’s really not a bad thing. Situated about two miles south of the town of Brian Head, this giant amphitheater sits high atop the Markagunt Plateau, over 2,500 feet deep and more than three miles across. The spectacular colors of Cedar Breaks National Monument are formed by an abundance of mineral deposits, making it breathtaking to behold. Hwy U-148 through Cedar Breaks is generally open late May through mid November to vehicle traffic, however check road conditions prior to embarking on your journey.

The Cedar City Visitor Center is located in Cedar City, UT, and is open Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 5 pm, and Saturday 9 am - 2 pm. Cedar Sports: Outdoor Gear and Rentals
Cedar Sports rents, sells, and repairs outdoor gear and equipment. During our summer months, we rent bikes, kayaks, and paddleboards. In the winter months, we rent skis, snowboards, cross-country skis, and snow shoes.

Dinosaur Footprints
Two miles east of the Parowan Gap is the Bureau of Land Management Dinosaur Track Site. Wander a natural area where several relief tracks made by ornithopods, ceratopsians and theropods are preserved in stone.
Dr Meeks Cabin and Urban Fishery
The homestead buildings have been restored to when it was a working pioneer farmstead and the urban fishery is a local favorite for fishing and duck watching. Utah fishing regulations apply.

Kanarra Falls
A 5 mile moderate to strenuous water hike that requires you to hike along and through the stream all the way up the canyon. Due to uneven terrain, hiking poles and good grippy water shoes are recommended. Dogs are not allowed. Permits are required and are limited to 150 people per day. kanarrafalls.com

Kolob Canyons
A lesser known area of Zion National Park that is typically less traveled, but no less spectacular. The canyon received its name from religious settlers in the 1850s who named it after “the star nearest to the residence of God,” and as you round that first corner on the scenic byway you just might agree. Open year-round however call ahead to check road conditions in the winter.

Old Iron Town
Old Iron Town tells the incredible story of Southern Utah’s historic mining industry. During the 1850s, Mormon pioneer leader Brigham Young sent several families to the Cedar City area to establish an iron works. Iron City (Old Iron Town) was established as Iron County’s second attempt at mining iron; the establishment had a schoolhouse, blacksmith shop, a foundry and charcoal kiln. While Iron City seemed prosperous at the time, it only operated for seven years, closing due to the lack of sufficient transportation for the iron ore and the money panic of 1874. In the mouth of Parowan Canyon lies the Evil Water Mountain Bike Trail System and disc golf course. With looping mountain bike trails and 27 holes over two side by side courses Parowan Canyon is the perfect place to spend the day with friends and family.
Parowan Gap
Wind, water and sand carved out this natural passageway that was once used as a major thoroughfare by ancient Native Americans. The different cultures are evident by the hundreds of petroglyphs carved into the Parowan Gap. Parowan Gap’s gallery of ancient American Indian rock carvings (petroglyphs) includes geometric designs, lizards, snakes, mountain sheep, bear claws and human figures. With over 90 panels and 1,500 figures, the Gap is believed to be one of the most concentrated collections of petroglyphs in the west and one of the most accessible.

Welcome to Parowan City. With an old fashioned hometown feel, Parowan invites visitors to stop, view historical sites, participate in community events and enjoy the beauty of southwestern Utah. As the gateway to National Scenic Byway #143, also known as Patchwork Parkway, and a central point for visiting National Parks and Monuments, the Visitor's Center is a must do for gathering information, brochures, and shopping for souvenirs.
The building housing the Visitors Center holds history and treasures. Once a bank now turned Visitors Center, some interesting items can be found including an antique desk and a vault. Don't get completely lost in the story as trinkets and treasures can be found hanging around the shop.

Between the Utah Shakespeare Theatres at the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Center for the Arts is the largest collection of Shakespeare-themed statuary in the world; a magical garden of sculptures of some of Shakespeare's most well-known characters. Southern Utah Museum of Art
Southern Utah Museum of Art, on the campus of SUU, features the artwork of regional artists known for their landscapes, faculty and student artists from the SUU Department of Filmmaking, Art, & Design, as well as emerging and distinguished artists from around the country and the world. Strengths of the nearly 2,000-object permanent collection include several works by famed Western artist Maynard Dixon, important regional women artists Eve Drewelowe and Edith Hamlin, and a comprehensive collection of work by Jimmie F. Jones that exemplifies his notable career in the region. Within SUMA’s holdings is an especially robust collection of prints that includes well-known artists such as Marc Chagall, James McNeill Whistler, Kawase Hasui, Thomas Hart Benton, and Käthe Kollwitz, among others. Thor's Hideout
Features some steep climbs and switchbacks through fabulous red-rock country to a stunning view of Cedar City and unique rock outcropping. This 3.6 mile trail is dog friendly and also popular with mountain bikers. The trailhead is located in Thunderbird Gardens behind the Cedar Ridge Golf course.
Three Peaks Recreation Area
Only 10 miles west of Cedar City, Three Peaks is home to two disc golf courses, over 27 miles of mountain bike trails, OHV trail networks, and some incredible camping and stargazing. The rolling hills and volcanic rock formations provide a fantastic location for outdoor recreation. Pets, visitors, and wildlife enjoy running through and over the hunchbacked granite outcroppings expanding across the landscape.

Free family-friendly outdoor entertainment on the green each summer evening, Monday - Saturday from late June through August. With singing, dancing, stories, music, and audience participation, this 30-minute show is the perfect way to experience the Festival for the first or one thousandth's time.
